Locate Pacific Swift

This service is for casual interest only and is not used for official ship position or to communicate with the ship. Messages posted here will not be received by the crew or trainees during the voyage. Ship’s blog posts are written by individual crew-members, crew family members, and trainees, and opinions expressed do not necessarily reflect the views of SALTS or our entire community. Why are there sometimes data gaps?
The ship's tracker transmits a location every 30 minutes while the YB unit is activated and has clear satellite coverage. There may be gaps or absence of data for many reasons, including dense cloud, geographic obstacles, low battery, or that the unit has been turned off while the ship is at anchor. A lack of activity does not indicate a problem with the ship and tracking across land does not mean that the trainees have portaged the ship. When in Coastal AIS range the Pacific Swift can also be followed at https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/home/shipid:379923/
